Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, met his French equivalent Jean-Yves Le Drian in Paris on Wednesday.
The two reviewed prospects for further consolidating co-operation, with particular emphasis on cultural activities.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed the importance of strategic relations between the countries and the UAE's determination to develop their collaboration to a higher level.
Mr Le Drian said the UAE was a key strategic ally of France and committed to widening the scope of co-operation.
In November last year, the two officials signed agreements for enhanced collaboration in medicine.
There was an agreement between the French state investment bank BPI and Mubadala for a €300 million (Dh1.22 billion) project, with scope for an additional €700m to invest in start-up companies promoting innovation in health care.
Last week, Sheikh Abdullah met US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington to discuss the situations in Yemen, Libya and Sudan.
