ABU DHABI // The emirate's jobs market continues to offer a range of attractive opportunities.
The government-run jobs site jobs.abudhabi.ae claims that, at present, there are about 900 Abu Dhabi-based vacancies, while the popular jobs site Bayt.com has more than 320 opportunities in Abu Dhabi, with 1,000 on offer in Dubai.
And the latest Bayt.com jobs index survey released last month shows 57 per cent of employers in the UAE are looking to hire in the next three months and 67 per cent are looking to hire in the next 12 months.
Darren Lyons, a financial adviser working in Dubai, believes that there is a strong employment market in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
"In Abu Dhabi, oil and gas is again a strong sector. The development of Saadiyat and Yas continues, and the financial district will see the food and beverage industry staying solid."
Mr Lyons said that the effects of the housing decree are yet to be seen.
"If, as an example, as an employee of a government-owned [or part owned] bank, you will be required to move, then that will have an impact on the middle management," he added.
