President Sheikh Mohamed has held talks with the President of Nigeria in a bid to bolster ties with the African country.
Bola Tinubu was received by Sheikh Mohamed at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
The meeting was part of Mr Tinubu's stopover in the Middle East after leaving India where he attended the G20 summit.
Sheikh Mohamed expressed his keenness to work together to further enhance the relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed ways to co-operate and find opportunities for development in various fields including economy, sustainability, energy and climate action.
They also touched on regional and economic issues, including the Cop28 climate conference, which is being held in Dubai later this year.
Sheikh Mohamed affirmed the UAE's commitment to expand its relations with Nigeria.
It was the first time Sheikh Mohamed had met Mr Tinubu since he was sworn in as Nigeria's President in June after a successful electoral campaign.
The two leaders were joined by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court; Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation; Abdulla bin Touq, Minister of Economy; Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation; and Dr Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the President.
Mr Tinubu was accompanied by members of his Cabinet.

Should late investors consider cryptocurrencies?
Wealth managers recommend late investors to have a balanced portfolio that typically includes traditional assets such as cash, government and corporate bonds, equities, commodities and commercial property.
They do not usually recommend investing in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies due to the risk and volatility associated with them.
“It has produced eye-watering returns for some, whereas others have lost substantially as this has all depended purely on timing and when the buy-in was. If someone still has about 20 to 25 years until retirement, there isn’t any need to take such risks,” Rupert Connor of Abacus Financial Consultant says.
He adds that if a person is interested in owning a business or growing a property portfolio to increase their retirement income, this can be encouraged provided they keep in mind the overall risk profile of these assets.

Investors:
A 10-year residency visa can be obtained by investors who invest Dh10 million, out of which 60 per cent should not be in real estate. It can be a public investment through a deposit or in a business. Those who invest Dh5 million or more in property are eligible for a five-year residency visa. The invested amount should be completely owned by the investors, not loaned, and retained for at least three years.
Entrepreneurs:
A five-year multiple entry visa is available to entrepreneurs with a previous project worth Dh0.5m or those with the approval of an accredited business incubator in the UAE.
Specialists
Expats with specialised talents, including doctors, specialists, scientists, inventors, and creative individuals working in the field of culture and art are eligible for a 10-year visa, given that they have a valid employment contract in one of these fields in the country.
Outstanding students:
A five-year visa will be granted to outstanding students who have a grade of 95 per cent or higher in a secondary school, or those who graduate with a GPA of 3.75 from a university.
Retirees:
Expats who are at least 55 years old can obtain a five-year retirement visa if they invest Dh2m in property, have savings of Dh1m or more, or have a monthly income of at least Dh20,000.
