The event was part of a marine clean-up campaign that falls under the Sharjah Museums Authority social responsibility initiative called 'Because We Care'.
The campaign began in 2009 and more than 14 tonnes of waste have been removed from the emirate's beaches and waters, including car tyres, plastic waste and fishing tools.
