Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and King Hamad of Bahrain met during the Endurance Festival finals at the weekend.
They discussed ways of supporting equestrian sports, especially endurance races that can enhance progress of endurance racing locally.
This was the 15th edition of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Cup, which took place at the Dubai International Endurance City in Seih Al Salam on Saturday.
It involved the participation of 155 riders, representing stables from across the UAE.
Abdulla Ghanim Al Marri from F3 Stable came in first with his horse Castlebar Corsair.
The runner-up was Catalina Bastons, who was riding a horse called Chassagne De Sommant from Jumeirah Stables.
Rashid Ahmad Seghayer Alktebj from the M7 Endurance Stables came in third, on board At Dial Range Tex.
Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmouk, chairman of the Dubai Equestrian Club, expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Mohammed for his support to equestrian sports and endurance riding.
He said the presence of Sheikh Mohammed and King Hamad at the event helped to encourage and motivate the riders.
