Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed meets Omani foreign minister

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, has held talks with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi.

The two ministers highlighted the long-standing ties between the neighbouring Middle East nations and efforts to further strengthen their friendship.

They reviewed a number of issues of common concern, as well as regional and global developments during their meeting at the Sir Bani Yas Forum in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed his desire for Oman to enjoy continued progress and prosperity under the leadership of Sultan Haitham.

Mr Al Busaidi stressed the importance of his country's links with the UAE and congratulated the Emirates on securing host status for the Cop28 global climate conference in 2023.

Sheikh Abdullah involved in key talks

Sheikh Abdullah held a series of meetings with international partners this weekend.

He hosted Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ismael Ould Cheikh Ahmed, on Saturday.

The pair discussed efforts to deepen the strong ties between the countries.

The Mauritanian minister also congratulated Sheikh Abdullah on the selection of the UAE to host the Cop28 climate conference.

Sheikh Abdullah received Ivan Korčok, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, to review bilateral co-operation.

The Emirati minister welcomed Brett McGurk, US National Security Council Co-ordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, and US special envoy for Iran Rob Malley to Dubai.

They touched upon the close UAE-US links and ways to further them.

Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the importance of the Emirates' friendship with the US, which he said have helped to lay the foundations for security, stability, peace and development in the region.

Sheikh Abdullah also met visiting Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf.

The pair examined plans to advance joint GCC action for the betterment of all of its members.
