An Expo 2020 Dubai chief vowed the UAE was ready to welcome the world to the largest international event to be staged in the Middle East.
Reem Al Hashimy, director general of Expo 2020 Dubai and Minister of State for International Co-operation, said the groundwork was successfully laid for a spectacle worthy of the ambitions of the UAE's leaderships.
The eagerly awaited, six-month world fair gets under way on October 1, with millions of visitors from all corners of the globe expected to flock to the emirate.
The celebration of culture, innovation and ingenuity will feature more than 200 dazzling pavilions, 191 of which will represent individual countries.
Ms Al Hashimy spoke of her confidence over the UAE's hosting of the event during a visit to the Expo site with Lt Gen Talal Belhoul, director general of the State Security Agency in Dubai.
"In a few weeks, we will welcome the world to the largest global event witnessed by the UAE and the region, and its successful organisation will be the culmination of the concerted efforts, co-operation and co-ordination of all institutions and bodies to host an exceptional World Expo worthy of the position of the UAE and the ambitions of its leadership," Ms Al Hashimy said.
"We highly appreciate the continuous follow-up by the work teams of the State Security Agency in Dubai and their continuous support through various joint initiatives with the Expo 2020 Dubai team."
Tickets for the mega event went on sale in July.
Single-entry tickets for the six-month world fair will cost Dh95 ($26), while a six-month season pass is Dh495.
Visitors have the option of a multi-day ticket for Dh195, which gives them unrestricted access to the site for 30 consecutive days.
