Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed invited to attend regional summit in Iraq

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sunday received an invitation from Mustafa Al Kadhimi, Prime Minister of Iraq, to ​​take part in a regional summit this month in Iraq.

The invitation came during a meeting at Al Shati Palace, in Abu Dhabi, with Ali Allawi, the Iraqi Minister of Finance, Wam reported.

They discussed consolidating ties between the two countries as well as regional and international issues of common interest.

Mr Allawi, also Deputy Prime Minister, conveyed Mr Al Kadhimi's greetings and Sheikh Mohamed expressed his "sincere wishes of further stability, security and prosperity to the Iraqi people", Wam reported.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed, Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Dr Anwar Gargash, the Diplomatic Adviser to the President, Sheikh Khalifa, and Mudaffar Al Jubouri, the Iraqi ambassador to the UAE, were also at the meeting.

French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to attend the conference in Baghdad.
