Emirates is launching flights to one of America's most popular holiday hotspots. From July 22, the Dubai airline will fly non-stop to Miami, Florida.
For the first time, travellers flying from Dubai International Airport to Miami International Airport will be able to connect with a direct flight. Services will be operated via Emirates's three-class Boeing 777-300, with four return flights a week.
Scheduled flights will depart Dubai just after 3am, arriving in Miami at 11am. Return services leave Florida around 9pm, landing back in the UAE at 7:35pm the following day.
Covering a distance of more than 12,000 kilometres, the new route to the Magic City comes after Emirates began operating cargo flights to Miami in October.
Home to Florida's busiest airport in terms of international passengers, Miami is known for its beaches and eclectic culture and is an exciting destination with an abundance of food, art and entertainment options.
From museums and exhibitions around every corner to sublime Cuban street food and fresh seafood, the city also has a love of the finer things in life, with world-class golf courses, glistening marinas and five-star hotels from the likes of the Ritz-Carlton, Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons.
The addition of flights to Miami means that Emirates will now be flying to 12 destinations across the US.
“There is a clear demand for this service from both leisure and business travellers and we anticipate that our new route will be warmly received across our global network, as well as by travellers in Southern Florida, South America and the Caribbean who can conveniently access Dubai and our wider network via Miami’s many air service connections," said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emirates chairman and chief executive.
In August last year, Emirates dropped its four-weekly service to Fort Lauderdale, which is also in South Florida, about 40 kilometres north of Miami.
Today, Emirates flies to Boston, Chicago, New York (JFK and Newark airports), Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington and Orlando.
The airline announced earlier this week that it would bring its popular A380 services back to the US. Emirates will start flying superjumbo stateside services to New York in June, and then to LA in July.
The US is included on Abu Dhabi's Green List. This means that travellers coming from any destinations in the US and continuing on to the UAE capital will not need to quarantine.
