Vanessa Ghanem is The National’s Arab Affairs Editor, based in Abu Dhabi. She oversees coverage of Arab and Gulf affairs, with a focus on regional geopolitics and diplomacy. Previously, she worked as a freelance multimedia journalist, covering Middle East geopolitics, business, energy and socio-economic issues. Her work has appeared in Al Arabiya English, Al-Monitor and others. She was also a digital media editor at LBCI Lebanon and contributed to the English edition of An-Nahar Newspaper.
