Rory is an assistant editor-in-chief at The National, overseeing the daily running of the newsroom. He was news editor for six years and prior to that worked for The Scotsman newspaper group. He grew up in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and has lived in the UAE since 2014. He does not miss Scotland's weather, nor its politics.

اسطنبول في 10 يونيو/ وام / بحث صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن زايد آل نهيان رئيس الدولة "حفظه الله" وفخامة رجب طيب أردوغان رئيس الجمهورية التركية. . علاقات الصداقة ومسارات التعاون والفرص الواعدة لتوسيع آفاقه في مختلف المجالات التي تعزز التنمية والتقدم في البلدين وتسهم في تحقيق مصالحهما المشتركة. . وذلك في إطار تعزيز العلاقات الإستراتيجية والشراكة الاقتصادية الشاملة بين البلدين. جاء ذلك خلال استقبال الرئيس التركي لصاحب السمو رئيس الدولة والوفد المرافق الذي يقوم بزيارة عمل إلى الجمهورية التركية. وأعرب سموه خلال اللقاء عن سعادته بزيارة تركيا وتجدد اللقاء بفخامة الرئيس رجب طيب أردوغان. . وهنأه بمناسبة إعادة انتخابه رئيساً للجمهورية ونيله ثقة شعبه. . متمنياً لتركيا وشعبها الصديق مزيداً من التقدم والازدهار. . فيما رحب الرئيس التركي بزيارة صاحب السمو رئيس الدولة مؤكداً أن زيارة سموه تشكل دفعاً قوياً لتطور العلاقات بين البلدين نحو الآفاق التي يتطلعان إليها وبما يخدم شراكتهما ومصالحهما المتبادلة. واستعرض سموه والرئيس التركي ما حققه البلدان من نمو في مسار علاقاتهما في جميع الجوانب، وفي مقدمتها الاقتصاد والتجارة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة إضافة إلى الطاقة المتجددة والأمن الغذائي والسياحة وغيرها وذلك في إطار الشراكة الاقتصادية الشاملة التي وقعها البلدان خلال شهر مارس 2023 . . معربين في هذا السياق عن ترحيبهما بالمستوى المتطور الذي وصلت إليه العلاقات بين البلدين والذي يبعث على التفاؤل بتحقيق مزيدٍ من الازدهار الاقتصادي والاجتماعي المستدامين. وأكد الجانبان خلال اللقاء حرص دولة الإمارات وتركيا على ترسيخ نموذج للتعاون والشراكة في المنطقة ، يقوم على قاعدة التنمية المستدامة ودعم جهود السلام والاستقرار الإقليميين لبناء مستقبل أفضل للأجيال الحالية والمقبلة وتحقيق الازدهار الاقتصادي المستدام. . مشيرين في هذا الإطار إلى أهمية العمل المشترك والتعاون البنَّاء لإيجاد الحلول المناسبة لمختلف التحديات والأزمات التي تمر بها المنطقة والعالم أجمع. من جانبه أعرب فخامة الرئيس التركي عن حرصه على تعزيز العمل المشترك مع صاحب السمو رئيس الدولة لما فيه خير البلدين الصديقين وشعبيهما وبما يعزز السلام والاستقرار في المنطقة والعالم. و قال إن بلاده تولي علاقاتها مع دولة الإمارات أهمية خاصة كونها شريكاً مهماً في دعم التنمية الاقتصادية والاستقرار والسلام على المستويين الإقليمي والعالمي.
