A reporter since 2003, Paul has been part of The National’s sports department since the newspaper launched in 2008. Primarily focused on cricket, he has followed the rise of the sport in the Emirates for more than a decade, in print, video, and as a co-host of the weekly podcast The Cricket Pod. Duties on that beat have extended to attending finals of global events played in front of thousands in Melbourne and Mumbai, as well as pursuing stories on the streets of Khorfakkan and Kathmandu. He has also covered every Dubai Rugby Sevens since 2005, as well as golf, football, tennis, and various other sports besides.
