Nobody can really claim Joe Root as their bunny, but Rahat Ali has enjoyed rare success so far against the world’s No 1 batsman in the UAE.
Root is the second-most prolific batsman in Test cricket in 2015, behind his captain Alastair Cook, and has 281 runs at an average of over 70 in this series to date.

Despite those numbers, he was clearly troubled by the left-arm swing of Rahat on day 2 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and it is not the first time that has happened.
Admittedly it is a small sample size, but Rahat has sent down 24 deliveries to Root in this series, conceded just 10 runs and had him caught at the wicket twice.
Given that success rate, it seems a surprise he has been the fall guy in the Pakistan attack.
With all the bowlers fit and available in Dubai, it was Rahat who made way, and he probably would not have played here, either, had Imran Khan not succumbed to a hand injury.
Rahat, though, was just grateful to see the back of Root early in his innings, as he fell for four.
“He is a world-class batsman and I have a lot of respect for him,” Rahat said.
“It was our plan to try to get him early because once he is set he is difficult to stop and he scores runs quickly. I was happy to get his wicket.”

With minimal bounce or sideways movement to assist them, Pakistan’s pace bowlers had to be reliant on accuracy and patience.
They might not have managed it to quite the extent England’s quicks did on the opening day, when James Anderson and Stuart Broad returned combined figures of six for 30 in 28.1 overs.
They did stifle the scoring rate adequately, though, with Rahat maintaining an economy rate of 2.18 and Wahab Riaz a miserly 1.53.
“It was difficult for the bowlers but we did our best to restrict the batsmen, and make sure we didn’t give them easy runs,” Rahat said.
“We managed that today. There was some reverse swing and we tried to use that.”

Teaching your child to save
Pre-school (three - five years)
You can’t yet talk about investing or borrowing, but introduce a “classic” money bank and start putting gifts and allowances away. When the child wants a specific toy, have them save for it and help them track their progress.
Early childhood (six - eight years)
Replace the money bank with three jars labelled ‘saving’, ‘spending’ and ‘sharing’. Have the child divide their allowance into the three jars each week and explain their choices in splitting their pocket money. A guide could be 25 per cent saving, 50 per cent spending, 25 per cent for charity and gift-giving.
Middle childhood (nine - 11 years)
Open a bank savings account and help your child establish a budget and set a savings goal. Introduce the notion of ‘paying yourself first’ by putting away savings as soon as your allowance is paid.
Young teens (12 - 14 years)
Change your child’s allowance from weekly to monthly and help them pinpoint long-range goals such as a trip, so they can start longer-term saving and find new ways to increase their saving.
Teenage (15 - 18 years)
Discuss mutual expectations about university costs and identify what they can help fund and set goals. Don’t pay for everything, so they can experience the pride of contributing.
Young adulthood (19 - 22 years)
Discuss post-graduation plans and future life goals, quantify expenses such as first apartment, work wardrobe, holidays and help them continue to save towards these goals.

Sinopharm vaccine explained
The Sinopharm vaccine was created using techniques that have been around for decades.
“This is an inactivated vaccine. Simply what it means is that the virus is taken, cultured and inactivated," said Dr Nawal Al Kaabi, chair of the UAE's National Covid-19 Clinical Management Committee.
"What is left is a skeleton of the virus so it looks like a virus, but it is not live."
This is then injected into the body.
"The body will recognise it and form antibodies but because it is inactive, we will need more than one dose. The body will not develop immunity with one dose," she said.
"You have to be exposed more than one time to what we call the antigen."
The vaccine should offer protection for at least months, but no one knows how long beyond that.
Dr Al Kaabi said early vaccine volunteers in China were given shots last spring and still have antibodies today.
“Since it is inactivated, it will not last forever," she said.
The drill
Recharge as needed, says Mat Dryden: “We try to make it a rule that every two to three months, even if it’s for four days, we get away, get some time together, recharge, refresh.” The couple take an hour a day to check into their businesses and that’s it.
Stick to the schedule, says Mike Addo: “We have an entire wall known as ‘The Lab,’ covered with colour-coded Post-it notes dedicated to our joint weekly planner, content board, marketing strategy, trends, ideas and upcoming meetings.”
Be a team, suggests Addo: “When training together, you have to trust in each other’s abilities. Otherwise working out together very quickly becomes one person training the other.”
