Bob and Mike Bryan, the world No 1 pair, reached the Wimbledon men's doubles final yesterday, after winning a marathon match against Frenchman Michael Llodra and his Serbian partner Nenad Zimonjic 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7.
The American twins, who won the title in 2006, will face last year's runners-up Robert Lindstedt of Sweden and Horia Tecau of Romania in the final.
Lindstedt and Tecau, the eighth seeds, had a much easier route to the final with a straight sets 6-3, 7-6, 6-2 victory over German/Austrian team Christopher Kas and Alexander Peya.
The Bryans, seeking their 11th grand slam title together, have had to reach their fifth Wimbledon final the hard way, winning a final set 16-14 in a third-round cliffhanger against Simon Aspelin and Paul Hanley, before yesterday's epic encounter.
Meanwhile, in the women's doubles competition, Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik enjoyed an easy passage through to the final.
The fourth seeds lost only four games on their way to disposing of the No 4 seeds Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina 6-3, 6-1.
The boys singles final today will have plenty of home interest as Liam Broady attempts to become the first Briton since 1962 to win the title.
The 17 year old takes on Luke Saville, the Australian, after defeating Jason Kubler, another Australian, 6-4, 6-3 yesterday.
Broady played down the pressure on him to give Wimbledon some home success, saying: "I think I've done a lot better than most people would think to get here already.
"So tomorrow especially I think I'll just go out there and just play my tennis and see what comes out of it."
