Tebow rides Broncos into share of AFC West lead

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota // When Tim Tebow took over the 1-4 Denver Broncos in October, few observers anticipated that he would lead the struggling team on a December surge toward the play-offs.

Tebow's success has not surprised Percy Harvin one bit. The quarterback's former teammate has seen it all before.

Tebow passed for a season-best 202 yards and two third-quarter touchdowns on Sunday to help the unflappable Broncos win their fifth successive game, 35-32 over the Minnesota Vikings (2-10) on Matt Prater's 23-yard field goal as time expired.

"I've seen him pull a lot of fourth quarters, a lot of last drives, a lot of two-point conversions," said Harvin, who teamed with Tebow to win two national titles at the University of Florida.

"I've got tremendous faith in him, always will. Just disappointed they got us today."

On a day when the normally stout Broncos defence was eating Harvin's dust, Tebow did what he does best - led his team back from an early deficit.

Denver trailed 15-7 at half-time and 29-21 with less than 10 minutes to go.

Tebow ran for a two-point conversion that tied the game at 29 in the fourth and Willis McGahee rushed for 111 yards and a TD to help the Broncos (7-5) forge a first-place tie in the AFC West with the Oakland Raiders, who lost to Miami.

"I know I have been saying this for the past couple weeks, but I'm so proud to have a team like this," said Tebow, who posted a career-high passer rating of 149.3.

"When adversity hits and you're not doing good, most teams pull apart and they're not on the same page anymore.

"But our team grows closer together."

Tebow has now led game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime five times in his first 10 starts, tied with Scott Brunner and Marc Wilson for the most since the merger in 1970.

"This team is close, believes, has a lot of character," Mario Haggan, the Denver defensive back, said, "but we're not done."

Ads on social media can 'normalise' drugs

A UK report on youth social media habits commissioned by advocacy group Volteface found a quarter of young people were exposed to illegal drug dealers on social media.

The poll of 2,006 people aged 16-24 assessed their exposure to drug dealers online in a nationally representative survey.

Of those admitting to seeing drugs for sale online, 56 per cent saw them advertised on Snapchat, 55 per cent on Instagram and 47 per cent on Facebook.

Cannabis was the drug most pushed by online dealers, with 63 per cent of survey respondents claiming to have seen adverts on social media for the drug, followed by cocaine (26 per cent) and MDMA/ecstasy, with 24 per cent of people.

How it works

Each player begins with one of the great empires of history, from Julius Caesar's Rome to Ramses of Egypt, spread over Europe and the Middle East.

Round by round, the player expands their empire. The more land they have, the more money they can take from their coffers for each go.

As unruled land and soldiers are acquired, players must feed them. When a player comes up against land held by another army, they can choose to battle for supremacy.

A dice-based battle system is used and players can get the edge on their enemy with by deploying a renowned hero on the battlefield.

Players that lose battles and land will find their coffers dwindle and troops go hungry. The end goal? Global domination of course.

Navdeep Suri, India's Ambassador to the UAE

There has been a longstanding need from the Indian community to have a religious premises where they can practise their beliefs. Currently there is a very, very small temple in Bur Dubai and the community has outgrown this. So this will be a major temple and open to all denominations and a place should reflect India’s diversity.

It fits so well into the UAE’s own commitment to tolerance and pluralism and coming in the year of tolerance gives it that extra dimension.

What we will see on April 20 is the foundation ceremony and we expect a pretty broad cross section of the Indian community to be present, both from the UAE and abroad. The Hindu group that is building the temple will have their holiest leader attending – and we expect very senior representation from the leadership of the UAE.

When the designs were taken to the leadership, there were two clear options. There was a New Jersey model with a rectangular structure with the temple recessed inside so it was not too visible from the outside and another was the Neasden temple in London with the spires in its classical shape. And they said: look we said we wanted a temple so it should look like a temple. So this should be a classical style temple in all its glory.

It is beautifully located - 30 minutes outside of Abu Dhabi and barely 45 minutes to Dubai so it serves the needs of both communities.

This is going to be the big temple where I expect people to come from across the country at major festivals and occasions.

It is hugely important – it will take a couple of years to complete given the scale. It is going to be remarkable and will contribute something not just to the landscape in terms of visual architecture but also to the ethos. Here will be a real representation of UAE’s pluralism.
