Al Jazira made sure they did not slip up for a second time at Kalba, negotiating a tricky pitch and the absence of four players through suspension to register a 3-1 victory and move up to fifth in the table. Jazira drew 2-2 at Kalba, who have just one league win this season, in the Etisalat Cup, but they had more luck this time, with Ali Mabkhout proving the match winner with a decisive double.
