Phoenix Suns add another defeat to Cavs season

The Cleveland Cavaliers suffered another demoralising defeat to the Phoenix Suns in today's NBA action.

Grant Hill scored 27 points and Steve Nash contributed 15 points and 15 assists as the Suns won their fourth game in a row, beating the Cavaliers 106-98.

The Cavaliers, who lost star man LeBron James to the Miami Heat last summer, have now lost 14 successive games and 24 of their last 25.

Elsewhere, Paul Pierce scored 22 points to help the Boston Celtics beat the Detroit Pistons 86-82 for a fourth straight win, while the New Jersey Nets ended a six-game losing streak with a 103-95 victory over the Utah Jazz.

Ryan Anderson scored 20 points and Dwight Howard added 18 as the Orlando Magic edged the Philadelphia 76ers 99-98 in overtime,

The Washington Wizards are still without a road win in 20 attempts after losing 100-87 at the Milwaukee Bucks, but the Dallas Mavericks ended their six-game losing streak with a 109-100 win over the LA Lakers.

Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points as the Denver Nuggets beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 112-107, hours after New Jersey Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov announced he would no longer try to sign Anthony.
