There was a huge shock in the tennis world this week when Rafael Nadal, the Spanish king of clay courts, was knocked out of the Monte Carlo Masters. Nadal was looking for his 12th title in the principality but was beaten by Russia's Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals . "Today was one of those days that my serve was a disaster," said world No 3 Nadal. In cricket, Pakistan batsman Babar Azam replaced India superstar Virat Kohli at the top of the ODI rankings. After a superb one-day series against South Africa, when he scored a century in the opening game and 94 in the third , Azam celebrated taking over from Kohli with a record-breaking ton in the T20 victory against the Proteas on Wednesday. In the football world, the reign of European champions Bayern Munich has come to an end after they were knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain at the quarter-final stage. The Germans won 1-0 in Paris on Tuesday, but after losing 3-2 in the first leg , Hansi Flick's side went out of the competition on away goals. Manchester City secured their place in the last four after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in Germany to secure a 4-2 aggregate victory.
