Manny Pacquiao says there are “big things coming” after announcing he had officially partnered with Paradigm Sports Management, the agency that counts Conor McGregor among its clients.
The eight-division boxing champion, 41, tweeted the news on Monday morning. He posed with his signed contract and said: “Grateful for the support of my family, team, and fans as I continue my professional boxing journey. Big things coming! Stay tuned!”
Pacquiao first announced in February that he had partnered with Paradigm, fuelling speculation he would face McGregor in a boxing match. Last month, the two-division UFC champion, who retired from the sport in June, said he had agreed to meet Pacquiao in a boxing bout in the Middle East.
At the time, Paradigm confirmed to The National that there was "significant interest" from inside and outside the Gulf to host the clash, including the UAE, and that confidence was high that a crossover fight would be booked. McGregor, who last competed in the UFC in January, has since been offered a fight against Dustin Poirier by the promotion.
A sitting senator in the Philippines, Pacquiao last fought in July, when he defeated the previously unbeaten Keith Thurman on points in Las Vegas to win the WBA super welterweight title.

Pharaoh's curse
British aristocrat Lord Carnarvon, who funded the expedition to find the Tutankhamun tomb, died in a Cairo hotel four months after the crypt was opened.
He had been in poor health for many years after a car crash, and a mosquito bite made worse by a shaving cut led to blood poisoning and pneumonia.
Reports at the time said Lord Carnarvon suffered from “pain as the inflammation affected the nasal passages and eyes”.
Decades later, scientists contended he had died of aspergillosis after inhaling spores of the fungus aspergillus in the tomb, which can lie dormant for months. The fact several others who entered were also found dead withiin a short time led to the myth of the curse.
