Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier have made official the much-hyped headline event to Sunday's UFC 257 after the two weighed-in on point in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
McGregor, who makes his return to the octagon from the first time in more than a year, was first to take the scales at W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island, in a show of real intent.
The former two-division champion weighed in at 155 lbs on the button, before declaring “championship weight” and beating his chest. Fellow lightweight Poirier was next up, weighing 156 lbs.
The clash, a rematch of the 2014 encounter in which McGregor prevailed by first-round TKO, tops the bill at UFC 257 at Etihad Arena. The event brings to a close the three-show Fight Island Triple Header in the capital.
The eagerly anticipated penultimate bout, also lightweight, between debutant Michael Chandler and No 6-ranked contender Dan Hooker is official, too.
New Zealander Hooker came in on the scales at 156 lbs, with Chandler, a three-time Bellator lightweight champion, later weighing in the same.
