Becky Lynch wins to get WrestleMania 35 title shot, as Shane McMahon turns on The Miz and The Shield triumph: WWE Fastlane predictions

WWE Fastlane takes place on Sunday night at the Quickens Loan Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. It is the WWE's final network special before their biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 35. Here is a look at what to watch for from the show. The action is set to begin at 3am UAE time on Monday morning, with the show available on the WWE Network, which can be watched via OSN Sports. What should have been a very simple build-up has become very complicated. Ronda Rousey turning heel is great. She was always going to be booed against Lynch so makes sense to work with it. Lynch is clearly going to be in the match. Unless there is another twist, which would really not be smart given the huge amount already dealt with since the Royal Rumble. The concern is Charlotte has lost a lot to Lynch already but she so over that she can eat another loss here. Lynch wins and has a staredown post-match with Rousey as the triple threat is confirmed. This is a hard one to call. Not in terms of result and Bryan is almost certainly going into WrestleMania as the champion. But how they handle Owens here is the interesting question. Bringing him back, as a babyface for the first real time in his WWE run, and then having him lose 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring doesn't makes sense. I see interference from Kofi Kingston backfiring and costing Owens. Erick Rowan interferes on Bryan's behalf, and Kingston comes out to aid Owens, but instead the consequence is that Bryan wins. Owens is hot at Kingston, the aggrieved Kingston still has a legitimate claim for a title shot, and we end up with a triple threat at WrestleMania 35. Personally this writer would prefer Bryan v Kingston, but unless Sami Zayn or someone else attacks Owens, they have to do something with Owens and a triple threat makes most sense. This is less about who is winning rather then who is turning from the losing side. The seeds have been sown, and the fact the Miz's father is at the match screams something bad is happening within the losing team. The Miz is the obvious candidate, which is why it must be McMahon who attacks Miz, and then Miz's father, post-match in a show of frustration. The motive can be simple. He didn't want to be in the team, he was talked into it and he is a McMahon and doesn't like losing - admittedly that last point may be stretching it considering 2003 was the last time Shane won a singles match on a network special. But you get the idea. McMahon to be the heel and give Miz the chance to see if he can work as a vengeful, but still cocky, babyface, heading to WrestleMania. An unexpected match which exists largely because of the excellent news of the recovery of Roman Reigns from his ill health. There is no way the Shield are losing their first match together as an unit since October. Reigns gets the pinfall, probably on Corbin, in a result that keeps Rollins strong too ahead of his Universal title match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania in April. Fairly predictable outcome to this one. Banks and Bayley have just won the newly launched titles and there is no way there are dropping them until at least later in the summer. Nia Jax and Tamina will have plenty of offence but this will go the way of the champions. Asuka has almost been forgotten as SmackDown champion, given Lynch and Flair are now over on Raw feuding with Rousey. This is a chance for her to shine and this should be a comfortable title defence. Despite interference from Sonya Deville this is a win for Asuka and sets her up for WrestleMania. This has been a great feud and these two could keep on wrestling each other all year and I don't think there would be too many complaints. The younger man in Andrade to pick up the win, possibly through nefarious tactics from Zelina Vega, with the result ensuring the rivalry can go on. This is based purely on the logic that the Revival have lost a lot on TV of late and the old adage is lose on TV and win on the network special. Black and Ricochet are the most likely other winners, but this screams of being a title retention. This is a last-minute addition to the card. Easy to see both teams winning and Nakamura and Rusev do badly need a victory. But Big E and Xavier Woods to prevail to keep the New Day strong, and relevant, not just for the tag division but also with a mind on Kingston, who will likely be at ringside lamenting his lack of a title shot.
