Al Ain face a daunting match against Iran’s Zobahan on Wednesday night for their last-16 second leg as they attempt to progress to the Asian Champions League quarter-finals.
Tough task
Al Ain, the only UAE club to win the tournament, must score in Istafan if they are to stand any chance of qualifying having drawn the first leg 1-1. However, Zobahan are unbeaten in this year’s competition and have the tournament’s joint-best defensive record, conceding three goals in seven matches.
Twin targets
The Zobahan match comes sandwiched between Al Ain’s President’s Cup semi-final victory against Baniyas on Saturday and this Sunday’s showpiece with Al Jazira. Zlatko Dalic’s side are keen to conclude the season on a high after last month surrendering their Arabian Gulf League crown to rivals Al Ahli.

All or nothing
“Our season will be judged by these two upcoming matches, so they’re both very important,” Omar Abdulrahman, the Al Ain captain, said. “Winning both will put Al Ain back at their normal place: at the top. It will then be a good season because we won the Super Cup, won the President’s Cup and qualified to the Champions League quarter-finals.”
Bonded by one goal
“The match tomorrow won’t be an easy one, but us players will do our best to come home with a positive result,” Abdulrahman said. “I trust all my teammates. The atmosphere here is like we’re all one family. Everyone in Iran is very close and everyone is in positive mood, and I’m sure this will encourage us to give our all in the match. We hope to come back to the UAE with a good result.”

Skewed figures
In the village of Mevagissey in southwest England the housing stock has doubled in the last century while the number of residents is half the historic high. The village's Neighbourhood Development Plan states that 26% of homes are holiday retreats. Prices are high, averaging around £300,000, £50,000 more than the Cornish average of £250,000. The local average wage is £15,458.

The smuggler
Eldarir had arrived at JFK in January 2020 with three suitcases, containing goods he valued at $300, when he was directed to a search area.
Officers found 41 gold artefacts among the bags, including amulets from a funerary set which prepared the deceased for the afterlife.
Also found was a cartouche of a Ptolemaic king on a relief that was originally part of a royal building or temple.
The largest single group of items found in Eldarir’s cases were 400 shabtis, or figurines.
Khouli conviction
Khouli smuggled items into the US by making false declarations to customs about the country of origin and value of the items.
According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, he provided “false provenances which stated that [two] Egyptian antiquities were part of a collection assembled by Khouli's father in Israel in the 1960s” when in fact “Khouli acquired the Egyptian antiquities from other dealers”.
He was sentenced to one year of probation, six months of home confinement and 200 hours of community service in 2012 after admitting buying and smuggling Egyptian antiquities, including coffins, funerary boats and limestone figures.

A number of other items said to come from the collection of Ezeldeen Taha Eldarir are currently or recently for sale.
Their provenance is described in near identical terms as the British Museum shabti: bought from Salahaddin Sirmali, "authenticated and appraised" by Hossen Rashed, then imported to the US in 1948.

- A coffin lid dating back to 664BC-332BC was offered for sale by a Colorado-based art dealer, with a starting price of $65,000
- A shabti that was on sale through a Chicago-based coin dealer, dating from 1567BC-1085BC, is up for $1,950

Is it worth it? We put cheesecake frap to the test.
The verdict from the nutritionists is damning. But does a cheesecake frappuccino taste good enough to merit the indulgence?
My advice is to only go there if you have unusually sweet tooth. I like my puddings, but this was a bit much even for me. The first hit is a winner, but it's downhill, slowly, from there. Each sip is a little less satisfying than the last, and maybe it was just all that sugar, but it isn't long before the rush is replaced by a creeping remorse. And half of the thing is still left.
The caramel version is far superior to the blueberry, too. If someone put a full caramel cheesecake through a liquidiser and scooped out the contents, it would probably taste something like this. Blueberry, on the other hand, has more of an artificial taste. It's like someone has tried to invent this drink in a lab, and while early results were promising, they're still in the testing phase. It isn't terrible, but something isn't quite right either.
So if you want an experience, go for a small, and opt for the caramel. But if you want a cheesecake, it's probably more satisfying, and not quite as unhealthy, to just order the real thing.
