Wolves manager Mick McCarthy thinks their Premier League destiny is ultimately going to be decided at Molineux. Wolves entertain Hull today and McCarthy said: "We have got to make home advantage pay. I would think that if you look at the Premier League as a whole, then home results are considerably better across the board than away results." While not wanting to give Hull boss Phil Brown any ammunition with which to inspire his side, McCarthy said this is the kind of game Wolves have to target as being winnable. Birmingham manager Alex McLeish says he would have to approve of any new signings during the Carson Yeung era. Yeung, who is poised to take full control of the club, had a reputation for being heavily involved in team affairs when the owner of Hong Kong Rangers. But McLeish, who has still to talk to Yeung and his representatives, made it clear any additions to the squad would be down to himself ahead of today's trip to Harry Redknapp's league leaders Tottenham. He said: "It would be nice to speak to Carson and his people and get a bit of clarity and talk about the way forward. Sunderland will look to build on their impressive start to the season when they travel to Stoke today, having collected six points from a possible nine, losing only to Chelsea. However, manager Steve Bruce, says his job has just started. "You want to get off to a good start and you want to hit the ground running," he said. "But the one thing I have learned is you can't get too carried away with it." Stoke's new signing Robert Huth, a £5 million (Dh30m) buy from Middlesbrough, could start in central defence if Ryan Shawcross, who has been struggling with growing pains, fails a late fitness check.
