Manchester United will be happy with a point from their meeting with Liverpool on Sunday, given that they played below their potential.
The match highlighted one area that is holding United back – the left-back position.
Jose Mourinho seems to have settled on at least nine of his regular starting XI, with only one forward spot and the left-back position uncertain.
Matteo Darmian, normally a right-back, played there on Sunday and has become the de facto starter.
Daley Blind has also played there and Luke Shaw was first-choice going into the season.
Neither Darmian nor Blind is a long-term solution, however, to the question of who holds the role.
Blind has excellent technique but lacks pace. Darmian is an all-effort, full-blooded full-back but he is right footed and in certain match-ups – against Tottenham Hotspur’s Moussa Sissoko earlier this season for example – he is clearly second best.
That brings us to Shaw who seems to have lost his way at United. He has been injured recently, but he has also yet to earn Mourinho’s trust. Questions exist about his temperament, too.
But Shaw, going forward, is a far more emphatic player for the position than Blind or Darmian.
A glance over to the other side of the pitch shows the effect a trustworthy attacking full-back can have.
Antonio Valencia has been impressive this season at right-back and one of United’s most important attacking players with his constant overlaps.
But down the left United does not get that pace or the regular overlaps from the left-back.
Darmian is unspectacular – he does not beat players like Valencia and, while he can cross with his weaker left foot – it is not a strong point.
It leaves Mourinho comfortable picking a player such as Henrikh Mkhitaryan or the less pacey Juan Mata on the right side of United’s attack.
But the Portuguese manager always plumps for pure pace on the left – Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard or Marcus Rashford.
You could argue that United are bit unbalanced.
A United side with both Mata and Mkhitaryan starting would be something else but Mourinho only usually starts one or the other.
Look at United’s top-six rivals. They all have strong full-backs, particularly Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
It is one area where United are lagging behind and, despite playing some excellent football over the past two months, they are still outside the top four.
There were rumours that old boy Patrice Evra might return to Old Trafford from Juventus in the January transfer window, but that is highly unlikely to happen.
If Mourinho is not going to recruit then maybe the answer is within.
Shaw is just 21 and it is only 12 months since a terrible leg break ended his 2015/16 campaign.
We have seen what Mourinho has done for Phil Jones, another young defender who was in danger of seeing his career stall after several unconvincing seasons and a lot of injuries.
Now it is time to work on Shaw, who can be United and England’s left-back for the next 10 years if Mourinho and he can overcome his mental and physical hurdles.

The five stages of early child’s play

1. Solitary Play: This is where Infants and toddlers start to play on their own without seeming to notice the people around them. This is the beginning of play.
2. Onlooker play: This occurs where the toddler enjoys watching other people play. There doesn’t necessarily need to be any effort to begin play. They are learning how to imitate behaviours from others. This type of play may also appear in children who are more shy and introverted.
3. Parallel Play: This generally starts when children begin playing side-by-side without any interaction. Even though they aren’t physically interacting they are paying attention to each other. This is the beginning of the desire to be with other children.
4. Associative Play: At around age four or five, children become more interested in each other than in toys and begin to interact more. In this stage children start asking questions and talking about the different activities they are engaging in. They realise they have similar goals in play such as building a tower or playing with cars.
5. Social Play: In this stage children are starting to socialise more. They begin to share ideas and follow certain rules in a game. They slowly learn the definition of teamwork. They get to engage in basic social skills and interests begin to lead social interactions.

How the bonus system works
The two riders are among several riders in the UAE to receive the top payment of £10,000 under the Thank You Fund of £16 million (Dh80m), which was announced in conjunction with Deliveroo's £8 billion (Dh40bn) stock market listing earlier this year.
The £10,000 (Dh50,000) payment is made to those riders who have completed the highest number of orders in each market.
There are also riders who will receive payments of £1,000 (Dh5,000) and £500 (Dh2,500).

Farage on Muslim Brotherhood
Nigel Farage told Reform's annual conference that the party will proscribe the Muslim Brotherhood if he becomes Prime Minister.
"We will stop dangerous organisations with links to terrorism operating in our country," he said. "Quite why we've been so gutless about this – both Labour and Conservative – I don't know.
“All across the Middle East, countries have banned and proscribed the Muslim Brotherhood as a dangerous organisation. We will do the very same.”
It is 10 years since a ground-breaking report into the Muslim Brotherhood by Sir John Jenkins.
Among the former diplomat's findings was an assessment that “the use of extreme violence in the pursuit of the perfect Islamic society” has “never been institutionally disowned” by the movement.
The prime minister at the time, David Cameron, who commissioned the report, said membership or association with the Muslim Brotherhood was a "possible indicator of extremism" but it would not be banned.
