Best season semi-finals 2013
Secret weapon
Parvez Rasool is the first cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir to play in the IPL. He came into the spotlight in the 2012/13 domestic season, taking 33 wickets and scoring 594 runs in the Ranji Trophy. Played two matches for the Pune Warriors last season, but should see more action with his new team.
Best Indian players
Shikhar Dhawan The Sunrisers will depend heavily on a good start from their captain and opener.
Amit Mishra The IPL's second-highest wicket-taker, no reason the leg-spinner's good run will not continue.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar An India regular, the seamer from Meerut can make the ball hop around like few others.
Foreign contingent
Aaron Finch (Australia) Owner of the highest individual score in Twenty20 internationals – a 63-ball 156 against England.
Brendan Taylor (Zimbabwe) A big success in the Bangladesh Premier League, the Zimbabwe captain, above, will be looking to impress in the IPL.
Dale Steyn (South Africa) One of the most feared bowlers, the Steyn Gun will be looking to fire again.
Darren Sammy (West Indies) A reliable middle-order batsman and has a knack of picking up important wickets.
David Warner (Australia) In great form for his country, the diminutive opener can shred any attack.
Jason Holder (West Indies) A towering pace bowler, the Barbadian will be hoping to grab his opportunities.
Moises Henriques (Australia) Considered one of Australia's best young talents. Can turn a game with either bat or ball.
One thing you probably did not know about Sunrisers Hyderabad
Shikhar Dhawan scored 311 for the Sunrisers last season after coming back from injury and playing only 10 of 17 matches. He was the only Sunrisers batsman in the top-25 scorers of 2013, coming in at No 22, 433 runs behind top-scorer Mike Hussey.
Paul Radley’s chocolate comparison
If they were chocolate they would be … Snickers. Founded under a different name, hit trouble, so rebranded. And David Warner is nutty.
