Rahul Dravid will likely announce his retirement from international cricket tomorrow.
The India batting legend has called a news conference in Bangalore that will also be attended by N Srinivasan, president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
The 39 year old is set to quit the game after a season of speculation surrounding his future following a poor tour of Australia, even though he enjoyed a prolific run through 2011, on tours of the West Indies and England.
His form in Tests last year even earned him a recall to India's one-day international side in England and a place in the one-off Twenty20 international against the hosts. He promptly retired from limited-overs cricket saying he was only interested in playing in Tests.
Since making his Test debut at Lord's in 1996 – when he hit 95 against England – Dravid has gone on to score 13,288 runs in 164 Tests and 10,889 runs in 344 one-day internationals. He has also taken 210 catches in Tests and 196 catches and 14 stumpings in ODIs.
A longtime deputy to Sourav Ganguly during the 2000s which coincided with the most successful era in Indian cricket, he also led the side in 25 Tests from 2005 to 2007, winning eight and losing six.
