ABU DHABI // Arab Udupi won a thrilling final over Seven Seas, in the ADCC Division One tournament final at the Zayed Cricket Stadium. Arab Udupi made 265-7 and Seven Seas were restricted to 255-9. However, Udupi were given a 10-run penalty for their slow over rate leading to a tie but the hoteliers still got the win as they had lost fewer wickets. Seven Seas had faltered badly at the start of their run chase. But lower down the order Fayyaz Ahmed (89) and Mohsin Irshad (50) put together a 123-run stand for the sixth wicket after being 92-5 in the 21st over.
Davender Taneja did most of the damage by claiming 4-32 from his 10 overs. And Vikrant Shetty applied the brakes by claiming 3-42 from eight overs after Fayyaz and Irshad had put the Seven Seas reply back on track. Arab Udupi lost wickets at regular intervals but all their batsmen chipped in with useful contributions to post a challenging total after they were put in to bat first in the day-night final.
Naeemuddin Aslam was the top scorer, falling one runs short of his half century.

Zubair Nadeem blasted a century in just 60 balls to help United Bank Limited beat the Mughals by 13 runs in a league match at the Zayed Stadium. It was the bankers' second win in three games to keep their hopes alive in Group B in which the UAE Exchange Centre and Yogi Group are the front-runners. Indika Sampath and Niresh Fernando shared an opening stand of 154 runs after Shadeep Silva had taken 5-7 in three overs to steer UAE Exchange to a nine-wicket win over Etihad Airways, their third defeat in many games.
Yogi Group notched up their second win to leave Electro Cooling Centre with one win and one loss in their group. Eurocon Building Industries and Lanka Lions made it to the last four stage after their quarter-final matches last week. Eurocon beat Ibsons Cricket Club by seven wickets after Jarnail Singh helped over haul the target of 210 with a knock of 92. In the other match, Lions set up a chase of 195 runs but Universal fell short by 13 runs. Brief scores: Ibsons CC 209-9.
