Godolphin scooped the two biggest prizes that were up for grabs at the Baden-Baden racecourse in Germany on Sunday.
Ghaiyyath was an impressive winner of the Group 1 Longines Grosser Preis von Baden, Germany’s premier all-aged race, after Vintager clinched the Group 2 Oettingen-Rennen earlier on the card.
William Buick was atop both the Charlie Appleby-trained runners.
Buick held off the late challenge of local horse Nico to clinch the 1,600-metre race by a neck on board Vintager, but had an easier ride atop Ghaiyyath to come home 14 lengths clear of the chasing pack over the 2,400m trip.
Appleby’s decision to run Ghaiyyath over the longer distance for the first time in seven starts paid dividends.
“We were confident and hopeful the step up to a mile and a half would suit him and it's always great when a plan comes to fruition,” said the Englishman.
“We were very happy with his first run back this season and while he was beaten in his second start we took the positives out of it.
“I was lucky enough to be able to give him a summer break. Some people might question what he beat, but he did it very well.”
Buick took up the running after the first 200m and was in control as they stretched the lead on the turn for home. Donjah finished second, with Laccario, the Deutsches Derby winner, in third.
Ghaiyyath’s victory have also bolstered the four-year-old son of Dubawi to have a crack at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on October
Appleby, however, left that decision for the owner Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
“We will discuss the Arc with his Highness Sheikh Mohammed in the next week to 10 days and see how the horse is.”
Vintager, a horse purchased prior to the Dubai Carnival (from the David Menuisier stable) was following up his Group 3 triumph at Chantilly.
“We have been learning about him over the last six months,” Appleby said of the five-year-old Mastercraftsman gelding.
“He's a handy horse to have around. He has been very simple to train and he's come through the ranks well. No immediate plans. He might just join the Carnival team again.”
Vintager chased the early leader Zagun on the inner before kicking on to challenge over 400m out.
Buick sustained the run to lead approaching final 200m. He then forged clear but drifted right onto stands' rail, edged back inside late on, before being held of the late challenge from Rene Piechulek on Nica.
