Guide to the 2015 Arabian Gulf Super Cup

The Arabian Gulf Super Cup, pitting 2013/14 Arabian Gulf League champions Al Ahli against President's Cup holders Al Ain, will be played on Friday in Abu Dhabi. John McAuley breaks down the who, what, where and when of the match.

What: Traditionally, the Arabian Gulf Super Cup is the curtain-raiser to the UAE football season, played just prior to the beginning of the new Arabian Gulf League campaign. It pits the previous season's league winners against the holders of the President's Cup. The match was postponed last September, since Al Ain, the cup holders, were contesting the semi-finals of the Asian Champions League. Now leading the domestic standings, they face Al Ahli, the current UAE champions, in the rescheduled tie.

Where? Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi (Al Jazira's home ground). Located on Muroor Road across from the Dusit Thani.

When? Friday March 27, 7:20pm

How can I attend? Tickets are available from the two clubs, as well as on general sale at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium: Tuesday-Thursday, 10am-1pm and 4pm-9pm. Limited tickets can be bought on the day, from 2pm until kick-off. There will be a dedicated family section at Gate 19. Gates 10, 11 & 17 are allocated to fans of Al Ahli, while Gates 21, 27 & 28 are reserved for Al Ain fans.

When will the teams be put through their final paces? Official training sessions will take place on the pitch at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium after the teams' pre-match press conferences on Thursday evening. Al Ahli's session is 7pm-8pm, with Al Ain's 8:15pm-9:15pm.

Mane points for safe home colouring
  • Natural and grey hair takes colour differently than chemically treated hair
  • Taking hair from a dark to a light colour should involve a slow transition through warmer stages of colour
  • When choosing a colour (especially a lighter tone), allow for a natural lift of warmth
  • Most modern hair colours are technique-based, in that they require a confident hand and taught skills
  • If you decide to be brave and go for it, seek professional advice and use a semi-permanent colour
