Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been called up to the Sweden squad ahead of their forthcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers, five years after retiring from international football.
The AC Milan striker, 39, scored 62 goals in 116 internationals before quitting the team following their exit at the group stage of Euro 2016.
Ibrahimovic will be in line to play in the fixtures against Georgia and Kosovo, and would appear to have made himself available for this year's rearranged European Championship.
In typical understated fashion, Ibrahimovic broke the news to the world with a post on Twitter with the message: "The return of the God."
Sweden coach Janne Andersson told reporters of his delight to welcome back the talismanic front man.
"First and foremost, he is a very good football player, the best we have had in Sweden," Andersson said. "It is of course very funny that he wants to come back.
"In addition to what he can contribute on the pitch, he has incredible experience and can contribute it to other players in the team."

UAE's role in anti-extremism recognised
General John Allen, President of the Brookings Institution research group, commended the role the UAE has played in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
He told a Globsec debate of the UAE’s "hugely outsized" role in the fight against Isis.
"It’s trite these days to say that any country punches above its weight, but in every possible way the Emirates did, both militarily, and very importantly, the UAE was extraordinarily helpful on getting to the issue of violent extremism," he said.
He also noted the impact that Hedayah, among others in the UAE, has played in addressing violent extremism.

Hydrogen: Market potential
Hydrogen has an estimated $11 trillion market potential, according to Bank of America Securities and is expected to generate $2.5tn in direct revenues and $11tn of indirect infrastructure by 2050 as its production increases six-fold.
"We believe we are reaching the point of harnessing the element that comprises 90 per cent of the universe, effectively and economically,” the bank said in a recent report.
Falling costs of renewable energy and electrolysers used in green hydrogen production is one of the main catalysts for the increasingly bullish sentiment over the element.
The cost of electrolysers used in green hydrogen production has halved over the last five years and will fall to 60 to 90 per cent by the end of the decade, acceding to Haim Israel, equity strategist at Merrill Lynch. A global focus on decarbonisation and sustainability is also a big driver in its development.

The trains

The National photo project
Chris Whiteoak, a photographer at The National, spent months taking some of Jacqui Allan's props around the UAE, positioning them perfectly in front of some of the country's most recognisable landmarks. He placed a pirate on Kite Beach, in front of the Burj Al Arab, the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland at the Burj Khalifa, and brought one of Allan's snails (Freddie, which represents her grandfather) to the Dubai Frame. In Abu Dhabi, a dinosaur went to Al Ain's Jebel Hafeet. And a flamingo was taken all the way to the Hatta Mountains. This special project suitably brings to life the quirky nature of Allan's prop shop (and Allan herself!).
