The Syria national football team took part in a training session in Sharjah on Saturday.
German manager Benrd Stange put his squad through their paces at the Sharjah Stadium in preparation for the country's opening match of the 2019 Asian Cup being held in the UAE against Palestine. That match kicks off at the same venue at 8pm Sunday.
Australia and Jordan are also in Group B and will face each other at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain (3.30pm).
The 2019 Asian Cup, which is being hosted by the UAE, kicks off on Saturday January 5.
There are 24 teams competing in what is the largest staging of the tournament, with matches played at eight stadiums across the Emirates.
Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain and Sharjah will all host games, with 36 matches taking place in the group stages, which run from January 5 until January 17.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
