Ronaldo 'going to be a little annoyed' as wait for Juventus goal continues - in pictures

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is convinced Cristiano Ronaldo will end his wait for a first goal quickly after the international break as the Italian champions maintained their perfect start to the Serie A season on Saturday.

Goals from Mario Mandzukic and Blaise Matuidi, either side of Gervinho's equaliser, handed Juve a 2-1 win at Parma as the Turin giants claimed their third straight win of the new league season.

While a successful outing for Juventus, Portuguese forward Ronaldo is still awaiting his first goal since his €117 million (Dh499.5m) arrival from Real Madrid in the summer.

The 33-year-old five-time Ballon d'Or winner missed a chance to open his account after 26 minutes when his powerful header went just wide, and spurned another chance 10 minutes into the second half.

Despite Ronaldo's profligacy, Juve manager Allegri has no concerns about the club record signing's form and expects him to hit the goal trail soon enough.

"Cristiano had a good game, he made himself available, but it was a moment when the ball did not bounce back in the right direction," Allegri told streaming broadcaster DAZN.

"I'm happy with what he's doing ... After the [international] break he will surely get a goal because we'll all be in better shape."

Goalscorer Matuidi echoed his manager's sentiments and insists the team will continue to support Ronaldo in his quest for goals.

"He had a great match but no luck," the French midfielder said. "He's going to be a little annoyed because he's hungry to score, but we're going to help him."

Allegri said he was impressed with Mandzukic who has scored twice in the opening three games and set up Matuidi for the winner.

"I didn't expect Mario to be in this condition after the World Cup," he said.
