Prolific Robert Lewandowski trains with Bayern Munich ahead of Lokomotiv Moscow clash – in pictures

There really is no stopping Robert Lewandowski and Bayern Munich at the moment, whether on the domestic front or in Europe.

On Saturday, goal machine Lewandowski grabbed a hat trick in their 5-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt to take his Bundesliga tally to 10 goals in five games. Hansi Flick’s team has now scored at least four goals in its last three games in the German top flight.

Last week, Bayern started their Champions League defence with a 4-0 demolition job of Atletico Madrid – a rare occasion when their prolific Pole did not get on the scoresheet – extending the Bavarians' winning run in the competition to 13 games .

Even if Lewandowski fails to score, there are plenty of other ready to do the job, such as Leroy Sane who marked his return from injury with an outstanding goal against Frankfurt.

And Bayern will have Serge Gnabry back on board again after the Germany forward tested negative for the coronavirus and missed the Atletico and Frankfurt matches.

Gnabry tested positive for Covid-19 last Tuesday and had been quarantining at home. Bayern said the 25-year-old was tested every day since and had produced negative results each time before antigen tests on Saturday and Sunday “also came back negative.”

He had started each of the team’s four Bundesliga games before that, scoring a hat trick in the season-opening 8-0 rout of Schalke.
