Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has said the entire squad has given their backing to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be given the manager's position on a full-time basis.
Former United striker Solskjaer has transformed the mood and results at Old Trafford, leading the club into the Uefa Champions League quarter-finals and lifting them into contention for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
When Solskjaer was given the role following the departure of Jose Mourinho in December it was widely assumed he was merely keeping the seat warm for a bigger name but his success has led to a clamour for the appointment to be made full-time and Pogba has now added his voice.
"Of course we want him to stay," the France midfielder told Sky Sports. "The results have been great. I have a great relationship with him, he has a great relationship with the players.
"When a player is happy, he wants to keep being happy. Solskjaer deserves it. He knows the club, he knows everything about the club.
"He is a really happy coach that gave confidence back to the players. This gave us the freedom to play and enjoy football again because maybe we lost that with the results that we had before."
It is a striking contrast to the final months of Mourinho's reign, with Pogba the player who was repeatedly claimed to be at odds with the Portuguese.
He declined to elaborate, saying only: "Maybe we lost confidence, maybe things went wrong. A lot of talking outside that we weren't used to.
"I don't like to talk about the past. I like to talk about the future because that's what matters. We are better now and the results have been brilliant."
Pogba was being linked with an exit from Manchester United during Mourinho's time in charge as the relationship between the two deteriorated. However, the midfielder insisted he is happy at the club, despite describing Real Madrid as a "dream club for any footballer".
"It's one of the biggest clubs in the world. I've always said Real Madrid is a dream club for every player," the 26-year-old World Cup winner said.
Real Madrid recently re-appointed another World Cup winning French midfielder in Zinedine Zidane as manager taking over from Santiago Solari.
"At the moment, I'm happy in Manchester. I play. There's a new coach," he said.
Pogba's immediate focus is with the France national team, who face Moldova in their opening Euro 2020 qualifier.
France have played six games since beating Croatia 4-2 to win the 2018 World Cup but Friday's Group H opener will be their first leading to a major competition.
"It’s true that it’s not so easy to come back and to have new goals right away after winning the World Cup," Pogba said.
"But we have to, it’s our job. And we have to remain professional. But now we're going right into the competition, it’s the qualifiers. We want to win, we want to be the first in the group."

The smuggler
Eldarir had arrived at JFK in January 2020 with three suitcases, containing goods he valued at $300, when he was directed to a search area.
Officers found 41 gold artefacts among the bags, including amulets from a funerary set which prepared the deceased for the afterlife.
Also found was a cartouche of a Ptolemaic king on a relief that was originally part of a royal building or temple.
The largest single group of items found in Eldarir’s cases were 400 shabtis, or figurines.
Khouli conviction
Khouli smuggled items into the US by making false declarations to customs about the country of origin and value of the items.
According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, he provided “false provenances which stated that [two] Egyptian antiquities were part of a collection assembled by Khouli's father in Israel in the 1960s” when in fact “Khouli acquired the Egyptian antiquities from other dealers”.
He was sentenced to one year of probation, six months of home confinement and 200 hours of community service in 2012 after admitting buying and smuggling Egyptian antiquities, including coffins, funerary boats and limestone figures.

A number of other items said to come from the collection of Ezeldeen Taha Eldarir are currently or recently for sale.
Their provenance is described in near identical terms as the British Museum shabti: bought from Salahaddin Sirmali, "authenticated and appraised" by Hossen Rashed, then imported to the US in 1948.

Dubai works towards better air quality by 2021
Dubai is on a mission to record good air quality for 90 per cent of the year – up from 86 per cent annually today – by 2021.
The municipality plans to have seven mobile air-monitoring stations by 2020 to capture more accurate data in hourly and daily trends of pollution.
These will be on the Palm Jumeirah, Al Qusais, Muhaisnah, Rashidiyah, Al Wasl, Al Quoz and Dubai Investment Park.
“It will allow real-time responding for emergency cases,” said Khaldoon Al Daraji, first environment safety officer at the municipality.
“We’re in a good position except for the cases that are out of our hands, such as sandstorms.
“Sandstorms are our main concern because the UAE is just a receiver.
“The hotspots are Iran, Saudi Arabia and southern Iraq, but we’re working hard with the region to reduce the cycle of sandstorm generation.”
Mr Al Daraji said monitoring as it stood covered 47 per cent of Dubai.
There are 12 fixed stations in the emirate, but Dubai also receives information from monitors belonging to other entities.
“There are 25 stations in total,” Mr Al Daraji said.
“We added new technology and equipment used for the first time for the detection of heavy metals.
“A hundred parameters can be detected but we want to expand it to make sure that the data captured can allow a baseline study in some areas to ensure they are well positioned.”
