French midfielder Paul Pogba appeared to cast doubt on his Manchester United future on Thursday, saying "who knows what will happen".
Pogba, 25, became the world's most expensive footballer in 2016 when he returned to United from Italian club Juventus in a €105 million (Dh498.7m) deal.
However, Pogba's time at Old Trafford so far has not quite hit the heights many expected, with the midfielder's relationship with manager Jose Mourinho central to his reported displeasure at the club.

Pogba's starring role for France during their victorious World Cup campaign in Russia only served to further highlight his inconsistent club form, which has continued at the start of this season as United lost consecutive matches to Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.
United were reported to have dismissed an approach from Barcelona for Pogba in the summer, and the midfielder has seemingly left the door open for a mid-season departure.
With his national team for Thursday night's Uefa Nations League opener against Germany in Munich, Pogba refused to say whether he saw himself at United in the long-term.
"My future is currently in Manchester," he told Sky Sports Germany. "I still have a contract, I'm playing there at the moment, but who knows what will happen in the near future."
Pogba's relationship with Mourinho appeared to hit an all-time low at the end of last season when the midfielder was dropped from the side. While reports have claimed the pair have attempted to move forward, Pogba did little to suggest the air had completely cleared.
When asked if he had a tense relationship with Mourinho, Pogba appeared to nod his head before saying: “We have a coach-player relationship, it’s like that.
“One thing I can promise: I will always give it 100 per cent, regardless for which coach. I give it my all for United always. That’s all I can say.”
Pogba's comments come the day after two prominent figures from Barcelona talked up his talents.
Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez described Pogba as an "elite player" who would "always be welcome" at Barca, while claiming the midfielder would want to be competing for more trophies than he currently is at United.
Barcelona vice-president, Jordi Mestre, then said: “What I read is that Pogba is unhappy at Manchester United and his agent, Mino Raiola, has been more vehement in efforts to sell him.
"But I have not read that he says he wants to sign for the club. Yes, he is a player of unquestionable quality in the eyes of all the world.”

What is a robo-adviser?
Robo-advisers use an online sign-up process to gauge an investor’s risk tolerance by feeding information such as their age, income, saving goals and investment history into an algorithm, which then assigns them an investment portfolio, ranging from more conservative to higher risk ones.
These portfolios are made up of exchange traded funds (ETFs) with exposure to indices such as US and global equities, fixed-income products like bonds, though exposure to real estate, commodity ETFs or gold is also possible.
Investing in ETFs allows robo-advisers to offer fees far lower than traditional investments, such as actively managed mutual funds bought through a bank or broker. Investors can buy ETFs directly via a brokerage, but with robo-advisers they benefit from investment portfolios matched to their risk tolerance as well as being user friendly.
Many robo-advisers charge what are called wrap fees, meaning there are no additional fees such as subscription or withdrawal fees, success fees or fees for rebalancing.

Why are asylum seekers being housed in hotels?
The number of asylum applications in the UK has reached a new record high, driven by those illegally entering the country in small boats crossing the English Channel.
A total of 111,084 people applied for asylum in the UK in the year to June 2025, the highest number for any 12-month period since current records began in 2001.
Asylum seekers and their families can be housed in temporary accommodation while their claim is assessed.
The Home Office provides the accommodation, meaning asylum seekers cannot choose where they live.
When there is not enough housing, the Home Office can move people to hotels or large sites like former military bases.

Juvenile arthritis
Along with doctors, families and teachers can help pick up cases of arthritis in children.
Most types of childhood arthritis are known as juvenile idiopathic arthritis. JIA causes pain and inflammation in one or more joints for at least six weeks.
Dr Betina Rogalski said "The younger the child the more difficult it into pick up the symptoms. If the child is small, it may just be a bit grumpy or pull its leg a way or not feel like walking,” she said.
According to The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases in US, the most common symptoms of juvenile arthritis are joint swelling, pain, and stiffness that doesn’t go away. Usually it affects the knees, hands, and feet, and it’s worse in the morning or after a nap.
Limping in the morning because of a stiff knee, excessive clumsiness, having a high fever and skin rash are other symptoms. Children may also have swelling in lymph nodes in the neck and other parts of the body.
Arthritis in children can cause eye inflammation and growth problems and can cause bones and joints to grow unevenly.
In the UK, about 15,000 children and young people are affected by arthritis.

What is the FNC?
The Federal National Council is one of five federal authorities established by the UAE constitution. It held its first session on December 2, 1972, a year to the day after Federation.
It has 40 members, eight of whom are women. The members represent the UAE population through each of the emirates. Abu Dhabi and Dubai have eight members each, Sharjah and Ras al Khaimah six, and Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain have four.
They bring Emirati issues to the council for debate and put those concerns to ministers summoned for questioning.
The FNC’s main functions include passing, amending or rejecting federal draft laws, discussing international treaties and agreements, and offering recommendations on general subjects raised during sessions.
Federal draft laws must first pass through the FNC for recommendations when members can amend the laws to suit the needs of citizens. The draft laws are then forwarded to the Cabinet for consideration and approval.
Since 2006, half of the members have been elected by UAE citizens to serve four-year terms and the other half are appointed by the Ruler’s Courts of the seven emirates.
In the 2015 elections, 78 of the 252 candidates were women. Women also represented 48 per cent of all voters and 67 per cent of the voters were under the age of 40.
