Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he has no issues regarding a new Amazon Prime documentary on Paul Pogba, insisting the French midfielder is fully focused on helping the team win matches.

The 2018 World Cup winner will be the focus of a documentary titled The Pogmentary which is set to be released in 2022.

Solskjaer said Pogba has "been in the spotlight" ever since he started his youth team career at United more than a decade ago, and that he "doesn't see a problem" with the documentary.

"Paul's main focus is to get as much out of his career as possible. He wants to be the best player he can be and he wants to win as many trophies as possible," Solskjaer said.

"He's already won the World Cup and I can see his focus now is all about winning and playing the best possible football he can. I know his personality. He's so lively, gets energy from making people happy. But his main focus will always be to win games for us."

Pogba, 28, whose contract runs until the summer of 2022, has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford at the end of the season having failed to showcase his considerable talents on a consistent basis since rejoining United from Juventus for £89.3 million ($123 million) in 2016.

His current campaign has been beset by injuries, yielding only three goals and three assists in the Premier League.

United, who are second in the Premier League with 63 points from 31 games, host Burnley on Sunday.

They are also in the semi-finals of the Europa League, taking on Italian side AS Roma later this month.

United exited at the same stage last season, and Solskjaer, 47, revealed his squad are keen to erase that 2-1 defeat to Sevilla.

“We are aiming to finish the season on a high – and the best possible way to do that would be to win the Europa League,” said Solskjaer.

"That's something we have been working on and thinking about for almost a year - the way we went out of the semi-final last season really hurt us. You can see from the focus the players have in the Europa League games that this time they want to go all the way to the final and lift the trophy. Last year is definitely driving us on. Sometimes you get extra motivation from setbacks. We're really looking forward to Roma.

“Roma are a good team. It’s going to be difficult. But before we play them we’ve got a couple of tough games against Burnley and Leeds.”

What the law says

Micro-retirement is not a recognised concept or employment status under Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 on the Regulation of Labour Relations (as amended) (UAE Labour Law). As such, it reflects a voluntary work-life balance practice, rather than a recognised legal employment category, according to Dilini Loku, senior associate for law firm Gateley Middle East.

“Some companies may offer formal sabbatical policies or career break programmes; however, beyond such arrangements, there is no automatic right or statutory entitlement to extended breaks,” she explains.

“Any leave taken beyond statutory entitlements, such as annual leave, is typically regarded as unpaid leave in accordance with Article 33 of the UAE Labour Law. While employees may legally take unpaid leave, such requests are subject to the employer’s discretion and require approval.”

If an employee resigns to pursue micro-retirement, the employment contract is terminated, and the employer is under no legal obligation to rehire the employee in the future unless specific contractual agreements are in place (such as return-to-work arrangements), which are generally uncommon, Ms Loku adds.

Country-size land deals

US interest in purchasing territory is not as outlandish as it sounds. Here's a look at some big land transactions between nations:

Louisiana Purchase

If Donald Trump is one who aims to broker "a deal of the century", then this was the "deal of the 19th Century". In 1803, the US nearly doubled in size when it bought 2,140,000 square kilometres from France for $15 million.

Florida Purchase Treaty

The US courted Spain for Florida for years. Spain eventually realised its burden in holding on to the territory and in 1819 effectively ceded it to America in a wider border treaty. 

Alaska purchase

America's spending spree continued in 1867 when it acquired 1,518,800 km2 of  Alaskan land from Russia for $7.2m. Critics panned the government for buying "useless land".

The Philippines

At the end of the Spanish-American War, a provision in the 1898 Treaty of Paris saw Spain surrender the Philippines for a payment of $20 million. 

US Virgin Islands

It's not like a US president has never reached a deal with Denmark before. In 1917 the US purchased the Danish West Indies for $25m and renamed them the US Virgin Islands.

The story of Edge

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, established Edge in 2019.

It brought together 25 state-owned and independent companies specialising in weapons systems, cyber protection and electronic warfare.

Edge has an annual revenue of $5 billion and employs more than 12,000 people.

Some of the companies include Nimr, a maker of armoured vehicles, Caracal, which manufactures guns and ammunitions company, Lahab

Libya's Gold

UN Panel of Experts found regime secretly sold a fifth of the country's gold reserves. 

The panel’s 2017 report followed a trail to West Africa where large sums of cash and gold were hidden by Abdullah Al Senussi, Qaddafi’s former intelligence chief, in 2011.

Cases filled with cash that was said to amount to $560m in 100 dollar notes, that was kept by a group of Libyans in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

A second stash was said to have been held in Accra, Ghana, inside boxes at the local offices of an international human rights organisation based in France.

Daniella Weiss and Nachala
Described as 'the grandmother of the settler movement', she has encouraged the expansion of settlements for decades. The 79 year old leads radical settler movement Nachala, whose aim is for Israel to annex Gaza and the occupied West Bank, where it helps settlers built outposts.

Harel Libi & Libi Construction and Infrastructure
Libi has been involved in threatening and perpetuating acts of aggression and violence against Palestinians. His firm has provided logistical and financial support for the establishment of illegal outposts.

Zohar Sabah
Runs a settler outpost named Zohar’s Farm and has previously faced charges of violence against Palestinians. He was indicted by Israel’s State Attorney’s Office in September for allegedly participating in a violent attack against Palestinians and activists in the West Bank village of Muarrajat.

Coco’s Farm and Neria’s Farm
These are illegal outposts in the West Bank, which are at the vanguard of the settler movement. According to the UK, they are associated with people who have been involved in enabling, inciting, promoting or providing support for activities that amount to “serious abuse”.
