If you are hoping for an easy life as a Premier League goalkeeper, best not take over the gloves at Newcastle United.
Last season, the Magpies player between the sticks was Slovakian stopper Martin Dubravka and he was forced into making 140 saves from his 38 games that were crucial in securing 13th spot – and top-flight survival – for Steve Bruce's side.
That was eight saves more than his nearest rivals; Tim Krul at Norwich and Bournemouth's Aaron Ramsdale, who both saw their clubs relegated.
Injury has meant Dubravka has been missing for most of this campaign, with Karl Darlow deputising. But while the name might have changed on the teamsheet, the heavy workload has not.
Darlow has made 39 saves from eight games, five clear of nearest rival Ramsdale, who joined Sheffield United in the summer, and seven ahead of West Bromwich Albion's Sam Johnstone in third.

Lt Gen Erik Petersen, deputy chief of programs, US Army, has argued it took a “three decade holiday” on modernising tanks.
“There clearly remains a significant armoured heavy ground manoeuvre threat in this world and maintaining a world class armoured force is absolutely vital,” the general said in London last week.
