Brazilian full-back Marcelo has dismissed reports claiming he is set to join Juventus by insisting he wants to remain at Real Madrid, in a wide-ranging discussion on Instagram Live with Fabio Cannavaro.
Marcelo, 31, has been at Real Madrid for more than 13 years, spending most of that time as the club's undisputed left-back.
However, the Brazil international has come under pressure this season from Ferland Mendy, signed from Lyon last summer. It has led to speculation about Marcelo's future, although he is adamant he has no desire to exit the Santiago Bernabeu.
"I don't want to leave and I don't think Real Madrid will sell me," Marcelo told Cannavaro. "I have done very well at Madrid since arriving. It's been a long time and it's an incredible story.
"I do think it's good that other teams are interested in me, but I don't know about Juventus.
"Two years ago I had already signed with them [Juventus], and had their shirt on because I couldn't live without Cristiano Ronaldo.
"People make up a lot of things."
Marcelo was also asked his opinion on some of Madrid's newer players, most notably Belgian star Eden Hazard and the club's young Brazilians.
Hazard, a €100 million (Dh407.5m) signing from Chelsea last summer, had endured a frustrating debut season for Madrid, before the coronavirus lockdown halted the campaign, as injuries limited his playing time.
"I think [Hazard] has done well," Marcelo said. "The injury he got was on the same leg as before, it was a shame but now he is going to come back.
"He is a top level player, the speed at which he does things is different to everyone else."
While it has been tough going for Hazard, two young Brazilians at Madrid, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, both 19, have shown plenty of promise.
"Vinicius exploded on to the scene, he is incredible at dribbling and you can see that he played futsal with the speed, and the fact the ball is always stuck to his feet," Marcelo said. "He reminds me of Robinho, but with more speed.
"Rodrygo is calm, always very calm. It seems to me like he has been playing for 10 years. He is intelligent. I tell both [Vinicius and Rodrygo] to be calm and that their time will come, but right now to give the ball to [Karim] Benzema who will score the goals."
Real Madrid were locked in a title battle with arch rivals Barcelona before La Liga was suspended in March. Zinedine Zidane's team sit two points behind Barca with 11 games remaining.
In the Champions League, Madrid need to overturn a 2-1 home defeat to Manchester City in the last-16 if or when the competition resumes.

Pharaoh's curse
British aristocrat Lord Carnarvon, who funded the expedition to find the Tutankhamun tomb, died in a Cairo hotel four months after the crypt was opened.
He had been in poor health for many years after a car crash, and a mosquito bite made worse by a shaving cut led to blood poisoning and pneumonia.
Reports at the time said Lord Carnarvon suffered from “pain as the inflammation affected the nasal passages and eyes”.
Decades later, scientists contended he had died of aspergillosis after inhaling spores of the fungus aspergillus in the tomb, which can lie dormant for months. The fact several others who entered were also found dead withiin a short time led to the myth of the curse.

Ziina users will be able to use the app to help relief efforts in Beirut, which has been left reeling after an August blast caused an estimated $15 billion in damage and left thousands homeless.
