Harry Kane and Timo Werner form formidable attack: Premier League team of the week

Harry Kane's sensational start to the season continued on Sunday with the striker setting a new benchmark.

A criticism widely aimed at Kane was that he never used to score in August. With the 2020/21 campaign starting in September, the Tottenham man has already scored five and assisted seven.

Kane was almost unstoppable against West Ham on Sunday. After supplying Son Heung-min for the opener the Spurs striker scored twice himself.

A second-half capitulation, however, meant the North London club blew a chance to go second in the Premier League table.

Another striker in this weekend's team of the week is a man who had just opened his account for his new club. Timo Werner's double against Southampton - another match to end 3-3 - illustrated why his summer arrival from RB Leipzig should be such a coup.
