Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter has said his team still need more points after taking a giant leap toward securing Premier League safety with a 1-0 win at Norwich City on Saturday.
Leandro Trossard's 25th-minute goal proved the difference at Carrow Road to move Brighton up to 36 points as the south coast club continued their fine form since the restart.
In four games Brighton, who prior to the coronavirus lockdown were the only team in England's professional football pyramid not to win a game in 2020, have won twice and drawn one.
With five games of the season remaining, the Seagulls are close to guaranteeing their top-flight status for a third successive year, but Potter insists this is not the time to let up.
"The result is the most important thing and we are absolutely delighted, a big three points," Potter told BT Sport.
"We have five more games to go and are still fighting for the points. We have to understand we're in a strange situation. Thirty-six points is a decent total but we need more."
While Brighton have enjoyed a timely upturn in form, the opposite can be said for Norwich, who have lost all four matches and are rooted to the foot of the table.
An immediate return to the Championship now seems likely and manager Daniel Farke has called on his players to keep their heads up.
"It was more or less our last chance to get back in the mix and we are disappointed," he told the BBC. "It was more like the performance we ask for.
"After a few losses, we don't have the right to make any fighting messages or to make any unrealistic claims.
"We are not naive, lets's show our pride."
