Frank Lampard and Tammy Abraham have played down concerns over the Chelsea striker's hip injury that he sustained during the team's 2-2 Champions League draw at Valencia on Wednesday. England attacker Abraham was carried from the field on a stretcher at half-time, having fallen awkwardly on his hip. The 22-year-old, who is Chelsea's top scorer this season with 11 goals in all competitions, went for a header but landed on Valencia defender Ezequiel Garay's knee. "He's in the dressing room now," said Lampard, of Abraham. "The word at half-time was that it looked quite severe, but the word afterwards was that it wasn't quite so severe. But that's all I know at this point now." Abraham later confirmed the problem was not as severe as he initially feared. "It's much better than when it happened. At the time, I was fearful of the worst obviously, but I got in and was able to walk again, move about," Abraham told Chelsea TV. "I'm thankful, hopefully it's not too long. I'll have a scan to see what the news is but hopefully it's just a bruise. It was a knee near my hip area, hopefully it's nothing too serious." Valencia had taken the lead through Carlos Soler but Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic dragged Chelsea back into the game before Daniel Wass earned the hosts a draw with a freak goal. Jorginho was lucky to escape a second booking and a red card for the foul on Jose Gaya that gifted Valencia a second-half penalty, that Kepa Arrizabalaga then saved in style. Maxi Gomez missed a hat-trick of first-half chances as Chelsea rode their lucky, only for Denmark midfielder Wass to miss-hit a cross that lofted straight over Kepa and into the net. Chelsea are level on eight points with Valencia in Group H but sit third below the Spanish team, who have a better head-to-head record. Ajax are on top with 10 points. Lampard's side can reach the last 16 with a win over French side Lille in their final group game. "I'm happy to a degree. We came here to win a match but we obviously respect the opponent, the stadium and the Champions League," Lampard said. "I wouldn't say I feel fortunate, but I didn't really love the match. Both teams had incredible chances, we had numerous ones in the first-half. But there haven't been very many times this season where I've had to say 'we kind of got away with that'. "It could have been five-all or six-six, it was one of those games. We should be better defensively than we were today. "I'm happy to a degree, you come here to win but you respect the opponent, the Champions League and how tough it is. "It was a really tough match but the draw keeps things in our hands for the last game against Lille."
