Manchester City moved to the brink of sealing their place in the Premier League top four by thrashing a hapless Newcastle United 5-0 at the Etihad.

David Silva scored one goal and made two more as City put on a passing masterclass.

City were ahead through Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez goals before a Newcastle own goal gave them a 3-0 lead just before the hour.

Silva scored a glorious free kick before teeing up substitute Raheem Sterling for his 24th goal of the season.
