Chelsea are among the Premier League clubs to reach a deal on a coronavirus pay cut with their players who have agreed to reduce their wages from May.
The Blues found no opposition from their first-team stars over the proposed 10 per cent wage cuts, even though there are no incentives for Frank Lampard’s squad to make up their lost money in the future.
Captain Cesar Azpilicueta negotiated the salary change on behalf of the squad during the coronavirus crisis, with the reductions expected to last four months.
Lampard is also expected to take a cut, although those discussions have been held separately as he wanted to remain neutral in talks between his players and the club.
Chelsea were fourth in the Premier League before the lockdown started, three points clear of Manchester United.
They have nine games remaining when the season restarts, and will be desperate to hold their position and qualify for the Champions League.

Another way to earn air miles

Adidas offers two air miles per Dh1 spent. Air Miles has partnerships with websites as well, so booking.com and agoda.com offer three miles per Dh1 spent.
