Manchester City were left with a healthy eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League after second-placed Manchester United suffered a 1-0 loss away to champions Chelsea hours after the leaders saw off Arsenal 3-1 on Sunday.
United manager Jose Mourinho, a former title-winning boss with Chelsea, saw his latest visit to Stamford Bridge end in defeat courtesy of Alvaro Morata's 55th-minute header that ended a run of six game without a goal for the Spain striker.
Victory left Chelsea fourth, nine points off the summit.

Everton climbed out of the Premier League's relegation zone after coming from two goals down to win 3-2 against Watford, which missed a penalty in a 13-minute period of stoppage time at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Everton looked set for a sixth straight loss in all competitions - and fourth under caretaker manager David Unsworth - after goals by Richarlison and Christian Kabasele put Watford 2-0 ahead by the 64th minute.

Premier League leaders Manchester City extended their club record run of wins to 15 in all competitions by beating Arsenal 3-1 on Sunday to open up an eight-point lead at the top of the table.
City grabbed the lead in the 19th minute through a low drive from Belgian midfielder Kevin de Bruyne and doubled their advantage soon after the interval when record scorer Sergio Aguero slotted home a penalty after Raheem Sterling was barged over by Nacho Monreal.
Arsenal threw on striker Alexandre Lacazette in the 56th minute and he fired them back into the game with a clinical diagonal finish after being set up by Aaron Ramsey.
But City restored their two goal lead when David Silva, in what replays suggested was an offside position, collected a pass from Fernandinho and slipped the ball to substitute Gabriel Jesus for a simple tap in.

Son Heung-min's second-half goal gave Tottenham Hotspur a nervy 1-0 Premier League victory over bottom club Crystal Palace in a London derby at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
But Mauricio Pochettino's injury-ravaged side failed to hit the heights of Wednesday's memorable 3-1 Uefa Champions League victory over Real Madrid and the title-chasers were fortunate to claim all three points.
Spurs were without two goalkeepers in Hugo Lloris (thigh) and Michel Vorm (knee) so Paulo Gazzaniga came in for his debut.

It was Palace who put Gazzaniga under immediate pressure as the Argentine failed to collect Wilfried Zaha’s cross but Mamadou Sakho failed to capitalise.
At the other end, Harry Kane’s volley lacked the power to beat Palace keeper Julian Speroni.
Harry Winks and Kane both received treatment for knocks and that disruption hampered the hosts' bid to find their tempo.
Tottenham did have most of the possession with Rose heading wide from Serge Aurier’s cross while Kane nodded off target after a deflected Rose cross had fallen nicely to him.
Zaha’s pace caused Spurs' defence problems but Eric Dier was equal to the task with a number of important interceptions.
Spurs had further half chances before the break as Jan Vertonghen’s deflected 20-yard strike came close to deceiving Speroni while Son's left-footed shot missed the target when the South Korean was well-placed.
