Atletico Madrid players continued to train on Thursday as they prepared for the title-deciding La Liga weekend.
Table-toppers Atletico take on Real Valladolid on Saturday knowing a victory will land them their first league trophy in seven years.
If they slip, Real – who are two points behind in second position – will win the title if they beat Villarreal.
However, Atletico's game at Valladolid won't be easy, with their opponents needing a win to avoid relegation. On the other hand, Villarreal will have their own challenges against Real as they are set to rest many players in preparation for the Europa League final against Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Madrid's city hall is deploying 130 police officers to prevent either Atletico Madrid or Real Madrid supporters from celebrating in large numbers.
Reuters reported that officers will patrol the main city centres where the two teams typically celebrate their title wins.
City hall spokeswoman Inmaculada Sanz asked supporters to celebrate in their houses or on their balconies.
"The epidemiological situation has improved but the virus is still out there and it's important to make one last effort and stay prudent," Reuters quoted Sanz as saying.
