Andrea Pirlo delighted as Juventus stay in hunt for quadruple after draw with Inter Milan clinches place in Coppa Italia final

Juventus reached the final of the Coppa Italia and remain in the hunt for a quadruple of trophies this season after their semi-final second-leg goalless draw with Inter Milan put them through 2-1 on aggregate.

Andrea Pirlo's side will face Napoli or Atalanta, who are locked at 0-0 ahead of Wednesday's second leg in Bergamo, in May's final in Rome after comfortably holding Inter with a disciplined display at the Allianz Stadium.

Inter barely troubled veteran Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon despite the return of Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi, while Cristiano Ronaldo was twice denied by fine Samir Handanovic saves at the other end.

Juve are unbeaten since losing 2-0 to Inter in Serie A last month and are still firmly in the hunt for what would be a record-extending 10th successive Serie A title.

They have conceded just once since that defeat, in the first leg win at the San Siro last week, and look in ominous form as they return to the title chase at the weekend.

The Italian Super Cup is already safely in the bag after they defeated Napoli 2-0 last month.

Juve travel to Porto next week for their Uefa Champions League last-16 first leg at the Estadio do Dragao.

“I hoped to get to this stage of my debut campaign and be in the last 16 of the Champions League, have won the Super Cup and reached the final of the Italian Cup, but we haven’t done anything yet so we have to keep working away and stay focused," Pirlo said.

“We played well today because Inter hardly had any shots on goal. We had the best chances and Handanovic was the best player on the pitch."

It is the second successive season Inter has been eliminated in the semifinal of the Italian Cup. It is also out of European competition, having finished bottom of its Champions League group.

“We undoubtedly needed to make the most of the many chances we created over the course of 180 minutes," Inter manager Antonio Conte said. "I think that we saw two teams that fought it out until the very end, but we’ve unfortunately paid the price for gifting them goals in the first leg.

"We tried to turn things around tonight but weren’t able to. We need to learn from our mistakes and bounce back.”

Juventus had won the first leg 2-1 last week, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring both goals for the Bianconeri.

Ronaldo also netted on Saturday in a 2-0 victory over Roma in the league, a day after celebrating his 36th birthday.

Normcore explained

Something of a fashion anomaly, normcore is essentially a celebration of the unremarkable. The term was first popularised by an article in New York magazine in 2014 and has been dubbed “ugly”, “bland’ and "anti-style" by fashion writers. It’s hallmarks are comfort, a lack of pretentiousness and neutrality – it is a trend for those who would rather not stand out from the crowd. For the most part, the style is unisex, favouring loose silhouettes, thrift-shop threads, baseball caps and boyish trainers. It is important to note that normcore is not synonymous with cheapness or low quality; there are high-fashion brands, including Parisian label Vetements, that specialise in this style. Embraced by fashion-forward street-style stars around the globe, it’s uptake in the UAE has been relatively slow.
