Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a brace to move top of the Saudi Pro League scoring charts ahead of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Karim Benzema as Al Nassr beat Al Khaleej 3-1 on Tuesday.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner fired Nassr ahead on 65 minutes, finding the net with a low shot from the edge of the area for his 100th goal contribution [goals and assists] since joining the Riyadh club.
Khaleej equalised on 80 minutes before Saudi defender Sultan Al Ghannam quickly restored Nassr's lead.
Ronaldo sealed victory eight minutes into stoppage time from close range for his 13th Saudi Pro League goal of the season. It was the Portuguese superstar's 919th goal at senior level.
"Good win today. Let's go Al Nassr," Ronaldo posted on social media after the match.
The goals were Ronaldo's first since reports last week that he is set to be offered a new one-year contract by Nassr worth €200 million as well as a five per cent stake in the Riyadh club.
Nassr climbed into third but trail leaders Al Hilal by 11 points after the defending Saudi champions battered lowly Al Wehda 4-1 to go three points clear of Al Ittihad.
Hilal got off to the perfect start at Kingdom Arena when in-form Brazilian forward Marcos Leonardo opened the scoring after seven minutes.
Leonardo is riding a hot streak, backing up last week's hat-trick in the 9-0 drubbing of Al Fateh to take his season's tally to nine goals in 12 games.
Hilal doubled their advantage four minutes later. Saudi international midfielder Mohammed Kanno found Malcom with a brilliant first-time pass, leaving the Brazilian winger to control perfectly before placing a shot past Abdullah Al Owaishir.
Malcom headed home his second from a Ruben Neves free-kick before Craig Goodwin grabbed a consolation effort for Wehda when his in-swinging free kick evaded Yassine Bono in the Hilal goal.
Substitute Abdullah Al Hamdan unleashed a fierce shot in injury time to seal a comfortable win for the SPL leaders.

A little about CVRL
Founded in 1985 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, the Central Veterinary Research Laboratory (CVRL) is a government diagnostic centre that provides testing and research facilities to the UAE and neighbouring countries.
One of its main goals is to provide permanent treatment solutions for veterinary related diseases.
