The Premier League returned from the international break this past weekend and it was a round packed with goals and drama.

The action got underway at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, where Liverpool won the Merseyside derby, defeating 10-man Everton 2-0 thanks to a Mohamed Salah double.

That was followed by five matches at the traditional Saturday kick-off time. Wolves fought back to defeat winless Bournemouth 2-1 at Vitality Stadium as manager Gary O'Neill got one over his former team, while Brentford secured their first home win of the season with a 3-0 victory over struggling Burnley.

Champions Manchester City bounced back from successive defeats with a 2-1 win over Brighton at the Etihad Stadium, Newcastle crushed Crystal Palace 4-0 at St James' Park, and Luton Town fought back to claim a 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest having fallen two goals down following a Chris Wood brace.

In the Saturday evening game, Chelsea looked on course for their most impressive win of the season but their 2-0 lead over unbeaten Arsenal was chased down and the match at Stamford Bridge ended 2-2. On Saturday night, Manchester United edged past bottom side Sheffield United 2-1 at Bramall Lane.

There was only one fixture on Sunday but it was one to savor for Aston Villa as Unai Emery's side trounced West Ham 4-1. The round then concluded on Monday night when Tottenham returned to the top of the table with a 2-0 win over London rivals Fulham.
