PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK: GK: David de Gea (Manchester United). The sort of match-winning performance he routinely delivered at his peak, De Gea was unbeatable against West Ham, producing several top-class saves to protect the win at Old Trafford. EPA
RB: Kieran Trippier (Newcastle United). Another superb display after setting up Newcastle’s second goal in the 4-0 win over Aston Villa with a perfectly weighted cross. Even if Reece James wasn’t injured or Trent Alexander-Arnold was in form, Trippier would have a big shout to be England’s first choice right-back at the World Cup. Getty
LB: Ryan Sessegnon (Tottenham Hotspur). Both of Bournemouth’s goals came down his side, so from a defensive viewpoint it doesn’t look great. But it was Sessegnon’s superb goal that sparked Tottenham’s fightback to win 3-2 at the Vitality Stadium. Getty
CB: Ben Mee (Brentford). Scored a stunning volley to give Brentford the lead against Wolves before being victim to a Diego Costa headbutt that saw the striker receive a red card late on. Getty
