The Bundesliga season came to a close last weekend with some familiar faces among the goals who are set to move on this summer.
In his final game for Borussia Dortmund before a summer move to Manchester City, Erling Haaland was on target from the penalty spot against Hertha Berlin as his team rounded off their season with a 2-1 victory.
The Signal Iduna Park crowd gave the 21-year-old – who scored 86 goals in 89 games after moving from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020 – an emotional goodbye. “It has been nothing but an honour to wear this shirt,” Haaland tweeted after the game.
Dortmund finished the season runners-up in the table, eight points behind champions Bayern Munich and four ahead of third-place Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayern finished the season with a 2-2 draw at Wolfsburg where, inevitably, Robert Lewandowski was among the scorers. The prolific Pole has just revealed that his time in Germany might also be coming to an end, with Barcelona front-runners to sign the striker who has scored 344 times in 374 games for Bayern since moving from Dortmund in 2014.
His contract ends in 2023 and the 33 -year-old said that he will not be signing any new deal. “I told the club that if an offer comes in, then we have to think about it – also for the club,” he said. “We have to find the best solution for both sides.”
